Shutdown Nutanix

If you running vSphere on Nutanix, and want to shutdown all nodes in Nutanix, here is the step:

  1. Shutdown all your VMs (except CVM)
  2. Stop Cluster (SSH to CVM and running “cluster stop” command)
  3. Login to ESXi/vCenter
  4. Shutdown CVM (Shutdown Guest)
  5. Enter Maintenance Mode (ESXi)
  6. Shutdown ESXi

Power on Nutanix Cluster:

  1. Power on ESXi Server
  2. Exit Maintenance Mode
  3. Power on CVM
  4. Start Cluster (SSH to CVM and running “cluster start” command)
  5. Ensure all ESXi can see Datastore
  6. Power on VMs
